Research Integrity
Center Faculty serve on the University's Institutional Review Boards (IRB's) for the protection of human subjects in research. Mark Yarborough has published scholarly articles in this area and both he and Marilyn Coors teach research ethics and integrity in the ethics curricula of the various schools. Mark is also taking a leadership role in a special project that is establishing a consortium of bioethics programs at the University of Colorado, the University of Washington, the Johns Hopkins University and the Cleveland Clinic to foster trust in the research enterprise. This special project is known as TIES (Trust, Integrity, Ethics and Science) and efforts are currently underway to secure funding for the next phases of the project.
