Sam Freeman
Samuel R. Freeman started his career as a
young attorney in the Colorado Attorney General's office.
He went into private practice and became managing partner
for Van Cise, Freeman, a boutique commercial law firm. Thereafter
he was recruited to become Vice President of the Denver Rio
Grande Railroad. Upon acquisition of the Southern Pacific
Railroad, Freeman took early retirement to become Vice Chairman
of Concord an international conglomerate. He retired from
Concord and became Chairman of Denver Research Institute of
the University of Denver. His government activities include
member of the Regional Transportation District, Chairman of
the Colorado Oil and Gas Commission, Board of the Community
Colleges of Colorado, Vice Chairman of the Interstate Oil
Commission, Chairman of the Industry Sector on Energy of the
U.S. Department of Commerce, member of the Urban Mass Transit
Council of the U.S. Department of Transportation, and Mayor
Pro Tem of the Town of Dillon, Co. He has served on the Boards
of approximately a dozen regional companies. Currently he
is a member of the Colorado Municipal Bond Board. His non-profit
boards include RSVP, Volunteers of America, and Goodwill Industries.
