Jeremy Lazarus, MD
Jeremy Lazarus, MD, is in private practice
in Denver, Colorado and Clinical Professor of Psychiatry at
the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center.
Dr. Lazarus is currently Vice speaker of the House of Delegates
(HOD) of the American Medical Association(AMA), member of
the AMA Board and served as Chair of the AMA Board Task Force
on Medicare/Health System Reform.
Previously, Dr. Lazarus served as Speaker of the Assembly
of APA. His newest book is Practical Tips for Entering the
Private Practice of Psychiatry. He has developed creative
state and national executive education and mentoring programs
for residents and young physicians.
He has served as President, Colorado and Arapahoe County
Medical Societies; Chair, Colorado AMA Delegation and President,
Colorado Psychiatric Society (CPS). He chaired APA's Ethics
and Managed Care Committees as well as Council on Advocacy
and Public Policy.
Dr. Lazarus received the CPS Spokesperson of the Year award,
was awarded a Special Presidential Commendation by APA and
received the 2004 APA Assembly Warren Williams award. In 2005
he received a teaching award from the Department of Psychiatry,
UCHSC. He is a Distinguished Fellow of APA and Fellow, American
College of Psychiatrists.
