James Searles, PhD

Jim Searles, PhD, is a chemical engineer engaged in vaccine and pharmaceutical development.  He is employed by Aktiv-Dry LLC in Boulder and consults for pharmaceutical companies.  Jim is an expert in manufacturing of final dosage forms for maximum stability.  At Aktiv-Dry he directs commercialization of technology for manufacturing vaccines and pharmaceuticals as stable, fine powders for inhalation delivery.  Aktiv-Dry is developing an inhalable live attenuated measles vaccine for use in the developing world, funded by the Grand Challenges for Global Health.  Jim is interested in making vaccines and medicines more globally accessible, both through public policy and the development and implementation of enabling technologies.
